In my opinion one of the greatest and most powerful arrangements in all of music history, O Fortuna by Carl Orff is a true classical masterpiece. It is part of Orff’s scenic cantata called Carmina Burana. You have heard it in everything from movies to television shows. I was curious of what exactly the words were so I googled it (like everything else)! Here are the lyrics and english translation.

Can you believe this? We are watching the Hilary Clinton’s “end of her campaign” speech. There was a lady that called in and said that she is almost at the point of tears that Hilary is not the Democratic nominee. This lady actually said on a nationwide broadcast that the only way she will vote for Sen. Obama is if he places Hilary Clinton on the SUPREME COURT!!! She would like for this to happen so that Hilary can protect “ROE vs. WADE”. She sounded like she was from Kansas. (Sorry Teri…)

He WAS probably one of the greatest “one-liner” comedians I have ever heard. It is too bad that I found out about this guy about a year after he had died from a drug overdose in a New Jersey motel. Let this be a lesson to all you kids. Crack SERIOUSLY is Whack!! To throw away such talent over something as meaningless as drugs is far beyond my comprehension. I mean, true enough Mitch’s entire routine was based on comedy that can only be derived from being pretty heavily gone on a buffet of choice drugs. His material made the average socialite wonder “Where did he come up with that?”, and then think to themselves “But, he’s got a point!” There is after all no replacement for true talent and Mitch had a delivery like you wouldn’t believe. I have an hour long standup show of his on the Ipod. Whenever I want to laugh a little, I just scroll to the “M”s. It is still hilarious after having heard it 20 times. In memory, and because the guy was just so cool, I have added some of his stuff to my blog to be added to the archive of my system backups for as long as I choose to keep them.
